What a treasure! As a child growing up in the middle of the Hungarian community, we would make a day out of going to the gardens as well as Wade Park. Our interest was twofold as my father had worked on the "garden project", as he referred to it. After the start of the war, we moved away from Cleveland and lost track of many of my school mates and neighborhood friends. However, I look forward to returning this summer and will make a day of renewing fond memories. Thanks to everyone who took part in renewing this treasure. Larry

From the E Newsletter of the Garden Federation, Issue 8 of September 2008, Paul Burik wrote: "The Hungarian community re-dedicated the Hungarian Garden to celebrate their 70th anniversary. This event, witnessed by some 400 attendees, included musical performances and dancing. Congratulations go to Carolyn Balogh, Cory Smith and their group of organizers for a great event. Lel Somogyi provided narrative of the history of the garden and Csardas Dancers had everyone’s attention. The Hungarian community has truly committed to the restoration of their garden and in so doing facilitates and motivates the renaissance of the entire park! Thank you again."

Add the time for the rededication as well as other important information such as 'free and open to public", where to park, safety comment, access routes from north and south (MLK will be closed to traffic that day), entertainment, speakers, etc.
